Today the Smit family came over to play and for lunch; a family that also adopted from Ethiopia, and live about a half hour away from us. We thought it was funny that we lived so close, and met for the first time in Ethiopia.
Their son was actually born in the same village as Birtukan and was at the same orphanage during the same time frame as her. We traveled to meet and pick up our children at the same time, too! Although they were both shy and quiet around each other at first, they soon warmed up to each other and played outside. It was neat hearing them speak their native language to each other!
