Snuggie Snuggie Wuzzie

As many of you know, we have had our hands quite full with our 3.5yo daughter Madelyn. I feel like my hands are more than full, and she is way beyond what is 'normal 3yo behavior.' Although she has always been a strong willed child and very temperamental, she's making herself miserable now. Nobody is happy, her included. And we're at our breaking point.

Long story short: We went to our family practice doctor (which I'm pretty sure wanted to perform an emergency exorcism on her during our visit), who referred us onto a child psychologist. We had our visit with her the next day, who wanted to do a few different things. First, she wants to review Maddie's case with the head psychiatrist in the office to get his advice - and then follow up with us again next month. She also wanted us to do an assessment with an occupational therapist specific to Sensory Processing Disorder - so we are going next week to do that.

We are praying that we are able to find out why Maddie acts the way she does - not only because it's impossible to handle and I'm going insane - but because she is also very miserable. I can't imagine being so frustrated, and not being able to effectively communicate my feelings, and therefore resorting to screaming 24/7. Hopefully we can find something that works for her!

Yesterday was Father's Day, and we tried to get a few photos of Mike with the kids - it was hard to get everyone to look at the camera, and keep their fingers out of their nose! So I'm going to post a couple of the best pictures we got; and yes, there's bound to be a nose pic. ;-)

Will be praying much for Maddie - and for you and Mike.
